Rope and Grope March 13th

Add to Memories Share
rope
Hello everybody. Rope 'n' Grope will be taking place at Sabrina and Mo's at 7 PM on Wednesday, March 12.

For the new people on the list, Rope 'n' Grope is a night of casual rope bondage practise & play. We teach each other what we know, and practise on one another. Scenes may and do happen. We don't as yet have any formal rules, so follow basic consent protocol: don't touch anyone, or their toys, or join scenes, without asking first. If you want to do something, Ask First, and all will be well.

For further information, check out our website at http://ropeandgrope.livejournal.com.

1. We are at 1704 E. 1st@Commercial, above the Red Burrito. Our phone number is 604 637-0501

2. Please note that there is now a donation box in the entrance hallway. We suggest donating $2.00, but donations are optional. You are under no obligation to contribute if you don't want to, and donations are much appreciated.

3. Our doorbell has #5 written on it. Unfortunately, our doorbell is not always reliable. You may have to phone up to the apartment. If you do not have a cell phone, there is a pay phone at the Broadway Skytrain, and in front of Shopper's Drug Mart at Broadway and Commercial Drive. I don't know of any pay phones closer than that, sorry.

4. The house safeword is "safeword".

See you on Wednesday!

The Column Tie

The Column Tie:

Some of our friends think
that this tie is called a column tie
because it ties two columns together;
for example, two arms or two legs.
Others think that it is called a column tie
because it creates a column of rope.
Either way, I get to tie up a pretty girl.

Advantages: This is a versatile and comfortable tie.  Once you learn it, experiment with tying columns between wrists, ankles, thighs, and upper arms.  You can also tie short columns between different parts of the same limb, such as ankle and thigh or wrist and upper arm.

Disadvantages: This tie allows more wiggle room and it's also easier for
bratty bottoms to get at the knots.

Other People's Tutorials: A smaller version of this tie is the Larks Head Handcuff.

Zephyr Says: Sir, it's been more than five minutes since you've tied me up. Hands on knees: This tie starts with a Lark's Head

A Lark's Eye View: Here's another view of the Lark's HeadStart to Wrap: We're going to make two wraps around the arms.

Keep it Going: This is the end of the second wrap.Easy as un, deux, trois: There will be three wraps including the Lark's Head.

The Return of the Finger:At the end of the third wrap, the ends are going to go through the bight.Just to be Anal: Here's another picture of the ends going through the bight.

ChangeDirection: Pull the ends up across the wrapsWind it Under:Bring the ends underneath.

Bring it Over: This is called frappingAnd Under Again:You've made a single frap.

Now Make a Bunch More:Keep frapping until you reach the other wrist. This is Really Frappin'Fun: Next, the ends of the rope are going to feed through the ... uh ... through here.

Another Angle:Split the endsWe're Almost Done:Bring the ends around to the bottom and tie them off.

And There You Go: A pretty girl in a pretty tie.One More Trick:I like to take one of the ends and run it through the opposite rope cuff.  It makes it easier to tie the column tie to a chest harness.

Rope and Grope FAQ

Add to Memories Share
rope
Q: When is Rope & Grope?

A: Rope and Grope takes place every Monday from 7:00ish to 11:00ish.

Q: You don't have R'n'G on holiday Mondays do you?

A: Actually, we usually do have R'n'G on holiday Mondays. You could email us in advance to confirm if you like.

Q: Is this a workshop?

A: No, it's not that structured. We just teach each other what we know or practise knots and ties. There aren't any formal lessons, but there are four ties that I (ScratchdDaddy) like to show to new people. If you're interested in learning something in particular, throw it out there and someone will probably know something about it.

Q: How many people will be at R'n'G?

A: Usual attendance is 8-12 people.

Q: What are the rules?

A: So far, we haven't had to lay down any rules. Everyone's been considerate and easy to get along with. To be on the safe side, I suppose that it's worth mentioning that R'n'G is a dry event. Alchohol/drugs and bondage just don't mix.

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: Nope. Wear your fetish gear if you like, but most people come casual.

Q: Is there an entrance fee or an admission price?

A: No, but we do have a Suggested Donation box. We suggest a donation of $2.00 to help us keep Rope & Grope afloat, but it's totally optional.

Q: Is nudity or partial nudity allowed?

A: Yes, in fact it's encouraged.

Q: Do "scenes" happen?

A: Yes, but they're pretty light. Usually it's just rope bondage and spanking. The venue is not appropriate for elaborate, heavy, or loud scenes.

Q: Is it OK if I just hang out and watch the first time?

A: Sure, feel free to ask a bunch of quesions too.

Q: I don't have any rope.

A: That's not a question! You'll probably be able to borrow rope from the regulars. We also sell hemp rope if you'd like to buy some.

Q: Can I come early the first time? The reason is that I don't know anyone and I want to hang out and chat a little before things get started.

A: Well that question surpises me, but OK. If it makes you feel more comfortable, we could arrange that.

Q: Is it difficult being so handsome?

A: I suffer through it.

Some Additional Information:

- you don't have to ask for a drink. Please just help yourself to whatever liquids you find in the kitchen

- the garbage can is beside the stove. Those boxes beneath the microwave and sink are for recycling

- the first aid stuff is in the medicine cabinet

- please keep bags and stuff off to the side so as to not block traffic

- spank you ... I mean ... thank you for your interest

The Lark's Head

rope
The Lark's Head:

Why is it called a Lark's Head?
We don't know.  But if you ever read
"this tie starts with a lark's head",
this is what they're talking about.

In this picture tutorial, we're going to
show you two methods for making a Lark's Head.

BDSM Chicago has some animations of ties and knots, including the Lark's Head, that you may find useful.

6 millimeter hemp: again, we're going with our favorite - 6 mill hemp Method Number One: start by .. uh ... doing this

Step Two: then ... um ... do this Step Three: then ... duhhhh ... do this

Step Four: well actually, that's pretty much it End of Method One: I hope that wasn't too technical for you

Method Number Two: Sometimes it's difficult to slip the Lark's Head over the limb or person or whatever So Pull it Through: wrap the ends around your victim and pull them through the middle

Disadvantage: if you're working with a long piece of rope, it will take a long time to pull it all through

Keep Pulling: imagine doing this with a 100 foot piece

Pull Some More: OK, I admit it; I'm just looking for reasons to take more pictures of WhimsicalZephyr

Almost There: isn't she cute :)

Finally: it's through

End of Method Two: unfortunately after all that pulling, I'm too tired to tie you up

Single Limb: The Lew Tie

Add to Memories Share
rope
This tutorial is on how to tie one particular single limb tie.

A single limb tie means that one end of the rope is tied to an arm or leg and the other end of the rope is tied to something else such as a chair leg or a bedpost.
